Mechanical

Mechanical is a specialisation within the scope aviation airframe and powerplant of Aircraft and Helicopter structure and system. It encompasses a wide range of job types within the maintenance and repair environment. An Mechanical specialist is a person who is responsible for all the mechanical maintenance an Aircraft/Helicopter as well as structure and system.

Mechanical Section purposely cater two main categories/trades for Authority Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) and European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). Airframe trade covers for all mechanical components, mechanisms and systems related to fuselage, wing, tail and engine structure. Powerplant Trade cover for all type of propulsion system turbine engine and engine. Several theoretical courses also fall under mechanical section such as Physic and Aerodynamics, Human Factor, Theory of Flight and Aviation Legislation.

There are 2 diploma programmes (Diploma of Engineering Technology – DET) and 1 bachelor programme (Bachelor of Aircraft Engineering Technology – BAET) offered by university directly fall under the Mechanical Section. These programmes are:

1. Diploma of Engineering Technology in Aeroplane Maintenance
2. Diploma of Engineering Technology in Helicopter Maintenance
3. Bachelor of Aircraft Engineering Technology (Hons.) in Mechanical
